Sharon Roberson, Esq. is the President and CEO of the YWCA Nashville and Middle Tennessee. She began her career as a nonprofit leader after decades of corporate leadership experience. Prior to her present position, she served as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary at Direct General Corporation.She held this position from July of 2015 came to Direct in 2014. Ms. Roberson has over 28 years of experience in the insurance industry including 17 years with AIG/American General Life and Accident and American General Property and as a state regulator for over 10 years. During her insurance career she has served as a General Counsel for over 8 years and COO of various companies. She has also held the position of General Counsel and Assistant Commissioner for the State of Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance as well as Director of self-insurance and surplus lines.  Sharon has served on and chaired numerous insurance boards in multiple states and received various awards.  Additionally, she has served on many non-profit boards including the board of the Nashville Symphony, YWCA, YMCA, Girls Scouts of Middle Tennessee and the Nashville Chapter of the Links, Incorporated. She is a proud graduate of Vanderbilt University with a B.A. in Economics and Vanderbilt University School of Law. She and her husband Cliff are the proud parents of two adult children.  Sharon is an avid runner having completed 5 full marathons.
