Equal Justice University 2025
Welcome to EJU2025: Moving Forward Together
Thursday August 28, 2025 8:30am - 10:00am PDT
We travel over two centuries and all across Tennessee to attend our state’s greatest civil and criminal trials in history and, in the process, we will meet Tennessee’s greatest lawyer and judge; “the Mother of the Civil Rights Movement;” the state’s worst trial judge; and Tennessee’s first hitman. Many of these trials had an impact beyond the courtroom on the law, the legal system, politics, and even culture, as well as propelled great legal and judicial careers. All had intense national press attention and courtroom drama.

Learning Objectives:
  1. Better appreciation of Tennessee’s rich legal history.
  2. Better appreciation of great and ethical lawyering and judging.
  3.    Better appreciation of the impact of the dynamic trial process for good and evil.
